In 2021, Nanjing Golden Chemical achieved an excellent score of 56 points in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) assessment conducted by EcoVadis, an international authoritative CSR rating agency, was awarded a silver medal. This score successfully enables Golden Chemical to exceed 74% of its peer companies worldwide.


EcoVadis considers companies holistically on four dimensions: environment, labor human rights, business ethics, sustainable procurement.


Based on EcoVadis' assessment results, many large multinational companies are able to find companies with excellent CSR performance to cooperate with.



1. General Principles

When ing managing our suppliers, we would take into account their corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments assess their CSR performance. In addition, we have developed our sustainable procurement policy conveyed it to our suppliers to improve our CSR management.

The Golden Chemical Sustainable Procurement Policy guides our procurement activities helps us realize a sustainable supply chain. The formulation of the Policy is based on globally accepted CSR stards, environment, health, safety (EHS) stards, the experience of established companies, our supplier code of conduct.


2. Requirements for Suppliers

Our suppliers must comply with relevant laws, regulations, industry stards, develop systematic regulatory frameworks related documents.

We assess audit suppliers with respect to environmental performance, health safety, human rights, ethics, fair competition. Suppliers that repeatedly fail to meet assessment criteria must take corrective actions. We will cancel or suspend cooperation with suppliers that do not show sufficient improvement after corrective actions will not resume cooperation with them until they meet our requirements.


3. Fair Workplace

We require our suppliers to ensure a fair workplace. This includes:

3.1. Giving employees the right to rest recover offering them fair compensation benefits.

3.2. Prohibiting discrimination based on race, skin color, gender, sexual orientation, religion, political affiliation, membership, disability, nationality, social origin, age, or other status.

3.3. Respecting employees' right to freedom of association.

3.4. Demonstrating zero tolerance for forced labor based on the following three principles:

3.4.1. Every worker must have freedom of movement.

3.4.2. No worker should pay for work.

3.4.3. Suppliers must not default on workers' wage payments or force them to work.

3.5. Prohibiting child labor as defined in the International Labour Organization (ILO) Minimum Age Convention (No. 138). However, the minimum age for employment in China (16 years) shall apply because the higher minimum stard must be obeyed where there is a difference between the international convention (minimum age of 15 years) the law of the country where the suppliers operate their business.


4. Factory Process Safety

The design operation of suppliers' production facilities manufacturing processes must be safe for employees, the public, nearby communities.

All production facilities must undergo risk assessments. Processes that may lead to severe accidents must be identified, their hazards risks must be thoroughly assessed. Adequate corrective actions must be taken to minimize the identified risks.

This includes ensuring that materials must be hled, stored, transported in a way that does not harm human health the environment.


5. Product Safety

Suppliers' products, according to their intended use, must be safe for human health the environment.

Suppliers must also provide information necessary for the safe disposal proper use of their products. Hazardous substances always require special attention. All aspects involving product safety must be accessed as part of the risk appraisal process.


6. Anti-corruption Fair Competition

Our suppliers must demonstrate integrity when doing business with others comply with all applicable laws anti-fraud, bribery, corruption regulations. Our suppliers must follow the principles of fair competition as well as the anti-trust fair competition laws regulations of the countries where they operate.


7. Reduction of Environmental Impacts

We are committed to reducing the environmental impacts of our energy, waste, water use supporting the development of a circular economy. We hope that our suppliers can support us in achieving our goals set similar goals for themselves.

We acknowledge that suppliers may differ in their environmental management efforts due to the nature of their business.


8. Responsible Palm Oil Procurement

Based on the principles of traceability management sustainable development, we undertake to only purchase distribute crude palm oil its derivatives that are certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). We require suppliers of palm oil its derivatives to provide RSPO certifications conduct risk assessments supervision.


9. Conflict-free Supply Chain

We are committed to eliminating conflict minerals from our supply chain expect our suppliers to support us in achieving this goal. Conflict minerals, namely minerals metals that require special attention, include armed forces-controlled tin, tungsten, tantalum, gold from the Democratic Republic of the Congo its surrounding areas. Our commitment includes zero tolerance for procurement from areas of armed conflict.

We require suppliers of these goods to provide documentation proving that all the materials they purchase are conflict-free.


10. Supply Chain Transparency

We strive to create a fully traceable supply chain to assess monitor related risks. We expect that our suppliers will join our efforts to accomplish the traceability goal follow our sustainable procurement policy.


11. Whistleblowing

Employees partners of suppliers are encouraged to report suspected violations of this Policy to us via e-mail.
